We closed on our house on Friday March 30th. I know it's been almost a week, but we've been crazy painting and moving, and it's still not done. As soon as we get stuff moved in and settled I promise I will post new pictures!
I am happy to repport that pending the appraisal, inspections, and final financing details, Adam and I have bought our first house. I can't tell you how excited I am. We really really love this house, we knew it was ht one we wanted from the moment we walked in. The next few weeks are going to be a little crazy, but we're shooting for a March 28th closing.
Well last night we found IT! Adam and I walked into a house with our realtor and just got that "This is our House" feeling. We made an offer last night, but won't hear on it until today, and I am so nervous!! There are a ton of pics in the gallery, although some of them aren't the greatest, and some are from the listing. I'll let you know when we hear about the offer!
As many of you know Adam and I have been living in the same house in the middle of ISU's campus rental area for almost 4 years, and the time has finally come for us to move on. We have begun the process of looking for and buying our first house. We actually went and looked at the first seriuos prospect, and while it's neither Adam's or my dream house, it has definite potential. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally be taking this step in our lives. I only hope that we can meet Adam's goal of being moved in in time to plant a garden. We shall see!
Lets take Damion and I for example. We can communicate in MANY different ways:
Face To Face
VOIP Phone
Work Phone
Cell Phone
TXT Message
Personal Email
Work Email
Mid Email
Blogging back and forth
IM
Skype (yes, I know, technically VOIP)
Gnome/Netmeeting
The interesting part is that we pay for most of those options, and have ALL of them, is that really the most efficient way to communicate? No, but its DAMN COOL
Ok so I had a birthday on Sunday (26, getting too close to 30 for comfort if you ask me), and it was an AWESOME weekend.
I actually got my first present on the 25th when Adam took me to see the Bears get their butts beat by Arizona, but we had a good time anyway. We took the whole day off on Friday and went downtown. I had never been to Millenium Park during the day and it was really neat. There's a fricking giant silver BEAN in the middle of the park. Yes there are now pictures in the gallery.
Damion and Jess were in town for the weekend, read all about Saturday night's adventure on their site. Becky came down on Sunday and we went and did some shopping and then she took us out to dinner at Red Lobster. Damion and Jess and Rob and Christie all came with, and I ate WAY too much.
Today, Wednesday, May 10th, 2006, Nicole and I had to make one of the most difficult decisions we have ever had to make. Our Foster Beagle, Taylor, was put to sleep at about 5:30 this evening.
Taylor had messed in is crate for the 3rd day in a row, and off to the vet we went to find out what was wrong. Almost immediatly we dicovered a bacterial infection that was causing the runs. To be safe (and since his kidney levels weren't ideal last time) they vet wanted to run bloodwork again. His levels, in a 4 month timeframe, had jumped drasticly. We were left with the decision to watch him die slowly over a few months, or to let him go peacefully. We made the decision as best for him and his life, and had him put down.
This is officially out of control. WHY DO WE NEED TO KNOW IMMEDIATLY WHEN AN ACCIDENT HAPPENTS THAT DIDN'T HARM ONE OF OUR LEADERS!?!?!
What Dick Cheney did was not illegal, immoral, premeditated, nor is it anyone's buisness.
The White House Press Corp has a job. Their job is to report on IMPORTANT matters involving the exectutive branch of our government.
Read that statement carefully. GOVERNMENT, not the personal lives of our leaders!! What happened is unfortunate, and terrible, but it has NOTHING to do with the workings of our government, NOTHING AT ALL.
